GROOMING your Pooch:
Since Doodles are hypoallergenic , they do not shed and they tend to stay clean longer than the typical dog that sheds. I have also noticed (this may sound funny) that Doodles and Poodles do not 'smell' like a dog. What I'm trying to say is they don't have that typical 'dog odor'.
You can leave more hair on your Doodle's face or less hair - it is entirely up to you. This is a River & Pistol Pete puppy - dog!
How about a "Man-Bun" ?!!
OR a "LION" cut!??

What is the difference between a F1 and F1B Doodles?
I get asked this question a lot. So here we go:
F1 & F1B doodles are a 'designer dog', or a Hybrid Dog. These dogs are crosses between two pure bred dogs. Mixed-breed bred dogs. These mixed bred (pure bred) dogs are not called 'Mutts".
The Poodle seems to always be in the 'mix' of these hybrid dogs. Why Poodle - well, becasue Poodles are the best dogs out there! They are smart, they are hypoallergenic, non shedding, great athletes, great hunters, great family dogs... oh the list goes on... (and yes, I am Poodle fan!)
F1 mix = 1/2 Poodle & 1/2 Irish Setter. First filia generation.
F1B mix = 3/4 Poodle & 1/4 Irish Setter. Second fifla generation. This pooch comes from a F1 (1/2 poodle & 1/2 Irish Setter) bred with a pure bred Poodle. (that would be our female, River's puppies, who is bred to one of our pure bred male poodles)
F2 mix = Third fifla generation.
From the third generation on, they are called Multi Gen IrishDoodles.
The letter “F” stands for the word filial, which simply means that the dog is a crossbred dog and not a purebred dog.

There are significant differences between an F1 and F1B IrishDoodle in terms of the amount of shedding, how hypoallergenic they will be, and the amount of hybrid vigor they will receive.
The downside of an F1 IrisDoodle is that their physical traits and personality will vary widely depending on which genes are dominant. Since the F1 IrishDoodle is 50% Poodle and 50% Irish Setter Retriever, you simply don’t know how much this IrishDoodle will shed, how hypoallergenic they will be, and what their coat will look like.
The best aspect of the F1 IrishDoodle is that they gain a health benefit called Hybrid Vigor. Hybrid Vigor means that a crossbred dog will be healthier than their purebred parent dogs. This is because purebred inbreeding causes the same genetic defects to continually be passed down to their offspring. Since the F1 IrishDoodle is a crossbred dog, it will only inherit medical genetic problems that are common to the Poodle and Irish Setter Retriever.
Stayed tuned, I'm still working on this information...... my head is spinning on all these F1..F2 B..... whew!!
The meaning of F1B the same as F1, except the letter “B” stands for Backcross. Backcross means that an F1 dog is a backcross bred with a purebred parent breed. The”F” still stands for the word filial, which means it’s a crossbred dog and the number “1” still means it’s the first generation offspring between a Poodle and a Irish Setter Retriever.
What will my PUPPY look like - when OLDER?
DOODLES: Always a Good Mix
Overall, any Doodle is going to be an outgoing, happy dog. There are a lot of reasons why they have become such a popular choice in so many families, and their popularity continues to grow. Different breeds are meant for different people, so never be afraid to meet as many different dogs as you can in the search for the right one. A dog, Doodle or not, is a partner for life, so make sure you take the time to pick the perfect one. We feel our IrishDoodles make a good fit for most all families and lifestyles.

BARKING - I have purchased several of these no-bark collars and have been very happy with them. It comes with an 'adjustable' collar so you can fit it to your dog's neck and then clip it. I've always been a fan of the collars that don't have the 'tag'. Our dogs will grab the 'tag' and eventually take the collar off. You can select "Beep, Vibration, Gentle/safe shock" Or you can elimnate the "shock". We have found that poodles normally do not need the "shock" and tend too respect the "beep" & "vibrate" mode. They are very effective. $29.99 Here is the link to Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/ANKACE-Upgrade-Rechargeable-Vibration-Detection/dp/B07S113FBX/ref=pd_rhf_eetyp_s_rp_c_1_5/135-3368179-1157322?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B07S113FBX&pd_rd_r=628f76f0-32a0-4905-9fb3-94a843fdc68a&pd_rd_w=amDIY&pd_rd_wg=0KbpP&pf_rd_p=eedb2e0a-dc98-41ea-a87a-c2ba640d1762&pf_rd_r=1EFCMJYBGAZ4FP151R9W&psc=1&refRID=1EFCMJYBGAZ4FP151R9W
We have also found that teaching your dog to 'speak' will encourage 'barking'. We do not teach our dogs to 'speak' with a bark - 'talking' and 'smiling' is ok, but not barking.
